Wed 10.24 Minneapolis, MN Target Center
Jim - Saw the show in MPLS last night, couldn't believe the harmony between Eddie and Dave, just like old times. Wolfgang had his own solo and did great, Michael was missed. The vocals were a little light, could have been the venue though, my friends say that the Target Center is not as good as the Excel, but it was great to see those guys after 30 years from VH 1.
Rob - First of all, let me say that I hope Dave, Eddie & crew can stay together long enough to produce some new VH material. I just attended the Oct. 24th show at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Mn. I am a drummer, and my bass player from my band attended the show with me. We were both fully expecting Wolfie to be pretty much just tapping along with the rest of the crew, to our suprise Wolfie truly can hold his own on bass, and Dave only forgot the the words one time! (And The Cradle Will Rock) Eddie and Alex were as polished as ever, and played the old favorites like it was yesteryear. This reunion of sorts was a long time coming, and the wait was worth it! I would also like to applaud VH for the choice on My-Kani Marley for the opening act. He also delivered a great set, although it was only 6 or 7 songs. I'm 41 yrs old, and I must say Diamond Dave can still do it all! Did I mention that Wolfie even held his own behind the microphone? We were very impressed and I for one am hoping to be able to buy a *NEW* VH album with this lineup!
Carla - Saw the show in Minneapolis on Oct 24, let me tell you, I was so psyched to go-and the boys did not disappoint! Eddie can still fly, Alex is still lightning fast, Dave can still belt it out. I was really impressed with Wolfgang. What is he? 16? He performed like a complete pro! He could jam, he had fun interacting with Dave. How cool is it to be Eddie Van Halen's son! "OH no Dad, I don't want to practice with you." Ha ha ha. One lucky young man to be able to jam with these guys, and he did great! I just wish I would have spent the extra money on a better seat. My nose is still bleeding.....
Ted - Well played, well done, but all but Wolfie looked, well; old. Eddie was on fire but Alex looked in pain and /or tired or on medication...his solo was okay (I play drums and have all their videos, so I know what he's capable of) but he just plain looked dragged out. I actually left early.
Jeremy - just wanna say i saw van halen on the 24th in minneapolis and i was completly blown away,i am a guitarist and the whole reason is van halen!i have been to a shit load of concerts and this is definitly in my top 3.
David - WOW Yesturday on the 24th of October at the target center in Mpls I just relived my youth ! The show was awesome DLRdidn`t skip a beat ,He started right where he left off ( almost ! ) What made this show unique is the fact dave didn`t squeel as much and kept the lyrics true just like the records !,Eddie and alex both played there songs as if they wrote`em yesturday..and I thought Wolfgang did a great job....
The sound KICKED ASS !!! I could understand everything they played ...right from the first note ! Where did I sit you asked ? sec 238 row M seat 9 ( look it up ! ) and for all you HOT heads that thought the sound sucked ..... thats because the acoustics at your arena SUCKED... or.... You just don`t know all the music...! so quit your bitching...So baby please ! can`t take it anymore!
